Ancient history is the study of the written past from the beginning of recorded human history in the Old World to the Early Middle Ages in Europe. The span of recorded history is roughly 5,000 years, with Cuneiform script, the oldest discovered form of writing, from the protoliterate period around the 30th century BC. This is the beginning of history, as opposed to prehistory, according to the definition used by most historians. The term classical antiquity is often used to refer to ancient history since the beginning of recorded Greek history in 776 BC (First Olympiad). This roughly coincides with the traditional date of the founding of Rome in 753 BC, the beginning of the history of ancient Rome, and the beginning of the Archaic period in Ancient Greece. Although the ending date of ancient history is disputed, Western scholars use the fall of the Western Roman Empire in AD 476, the death of the emperor Justinian I, the coming of Islam or the rise of Charlemagne as the end of ancient and Classical European history. In India, the period includes the period of the Middle Kingdoms, and in China the time up to the Qin Dynasty is included. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License Could all polytheistic ancient religions to be based on the fallen angels? Q. Ancient Greek 12 gods, could be some of the angels that fell and they give birth to the giants, what is called in the bible nephilim. At the ancient greek history it is mentioned about giants, and super humans. Also other gods too , might be from the fallen angels, before the flood, like egyptian gods, or the Scandinavian gods. It can make sense, because the people back then they weren't that stupid, they did based all these different religions on something. And all have characteristics that it can be true. Asked by Aurora - Sat Jun 13 18:20:37 2009 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. Yes. 214 fallen angels decided - under guidance of samzayah - to rebel against the due purpose of their existence, mingled with man's daughters and the nefilim were born. Later on, these also gave birth to the giborim - the giants - and reality and Legend began. There a little truth in any lie. But there can not be truth in any lie. The book of Enoch gives names, purpose and responsibility to all these entities. These are the ones that belong to those coming back to earth to finnish what they started. Soon. Part of their deeds were monsters, mixing of different species and the teachings of weaponry, medicines and technology that mankind used since. If you think the "inbreeding- of species is something new, think again. Why do you think… [cont.] Answered by John - Sun Jun 14 15:59:17 2009 How did we first discover ancient egyptian mummies? Q. How did we find out what hieroglyphics meant? Also if anyone has info on the art and/or proses of mummification that would help too. Asked by melanietaylor27 - Tue Nov 11 22:00:22 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Mummies have always been known. The medieval doctors of Alexandria in Egypt prescribed powdered mummy as a kind of wonder drug, and mummies were dug up and made into medicine until the 18th century! The earliest public unwrapping of a mummy was conducted in Cairo in 1698. Through experimentation, the Egyptians discovered that decomposition worked largely from the inside out. Bacteria collected first in the body's internal organs and moved on from there. To stop the putrefaction process, the embalmers realized, they would have to remove the internal organs. This, combined with the discovery of the natural drying agent natron, led to the famous Egyptian mummies we know today. The science and theology of embalming continued to evolve over… [cont.] Answered by 7ala is fluffy ? - Wed Nov 12 18:21:45 2008 How did the ancient Greeks explain tides and how the moon effects the ocean?
Q. How did the ancient Greeks explain tides and how the moon effects the ocean? Did they know it had an effect on it? Or was it something they just didn't notice? Asked by = - Sun Mar 9 12:45:21 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Most of the Greeks appear not to have noticed, because tides in the Mediterranean where they lived were relatively inconspicuous. However, Pytheas of Massilia (modern Marseilles) who lived in the fourth century B.C. was able to observe the tides in the Atlantic and is supposed to have put forward the hypothesis that the moon affects them.
