MEN ...?
Q. What does it mean when people say "Let a man be a man"? What exactly is the meaning behind that and what does it have to do with what women do?
Asked by [ALIEN INVASION] - Mon Dec 8 21:02:19 2008 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It means that, if a man does something unacceptable, you should tolerate it so long as he's acting stereotypical. It's sort of like "let boys be boys," which is a line lazy educators use to avoid having to deal with problem children. All in all, these are pretty stupid aphorisms.

How is believing that men should have equal rights to women disturbing? How does masculism equal chauvinism?
Q. It seems lots of feminist men and women, running around with the slogan: "feminism benefits men too!! shout misogynist, or chauvinist, every time a man is sceptical about feminism, or even mentions men's rights around them. Aren't they just acting they're living in some Orwellian matriarchal society, where if men speak out for their rights, or doubt the supposed global benefits of feminism, then their prejudice pigs. I hate patriarchy too, but unlike you I don't endorse a matriarchy.

A. Unfortunately, many people are still under the impression that women in the western world still don't have equality. As long as that brainwashed concept exists, endorsing men's rights will still get you a 'misogynist' label. Equality goes both ways, and that's the painful truth. Most of the hardcore feminists have been doing little other than crusading. If they admit that equality for women has been achieved, many women would be out of jobs and power as feminists. That can be the only reason feminism is still a force in the western world.

How many men on here associate men dominating women with manhood?
Q. Men on here keep accusing feminists of being masculine, and wanting feminine men, so I was just wondering. I think that's what's at the root of the problem here, and why insecure men associate women's rights with being castrated. Never heard of Dworken, so take a logic class and answer the question. Just because she did something doesn't mean squat. Dworkin, I guess. I think men just want to believe women can only think emotionally. That's a result of their own emotional thinking. Wanting to feel superior.

A. reading this answers i have a feeling most people have no idea what feminism is really about today its not about women having supremacy that would be "Amazonianism" but about women having equality and the safety to be free in our society. i.e "take back the night" walks etc. . . it can be frightening being a woman, this year there have been three rapes (and one attack one woman fought back and got away) on my campus all by the same male. one rape was even in a university building! the feminist group at my school did a lot to raise awareness to encourage females not to be alone and to get males to be "walking buddies" for their female friends. I would hardly call that a fight for dominance, nor were any of those women "masculine".… [cont.]

How come men who have standards are considered superficial by women when they have standards also?
Q. A lot of women refuse to date a man shorter than her. Some men refuse to date fat women or women with small breasts. Women criticize men and demonize them for having standards when they have them also...why is this? Why do they demand equality in relationships/dating, when they endorse double standard themselves?

What race of men despite being glorified by Europe and the media still go to asian countries to order?
Q. Their wives? I mean if white men are so desirable and white women are most beautiful why is it they go to Cambodia, thailand and asian countries to pay for Asian wives? If they are so superior and beautiful why is it they are the only pathetic race of men that have to pay poor families for their beautiful daughters in foreign countries? So white men even after being glorified 24/7 you still have to pay for a wife? Sad, really sad.

A. Women from Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, etc are well known for taking good care of their boyfriends / husbands, as long as the man supports them financially and is there for them. Western guys are well known for taking care of their women, supporting them and being there for them. Western women are more capable of supporting themselves with out the need of a man and they are more picky and fussy compared to these women from developing Asian countries. At the end of the day what people do is their business and not yours.

What should men do if a woman tries attack him?
Q. I don't agree with domestic violence between genders. Men are raised not to hit women. But what about women? Women often use the advantage to hit a man because of their principals. A man can take so much and can be provoked to hit a woman for their violence and behavior. There's men who are threatened by dramatic women who curses or appears violent. If a woman were to kill a man, he would have to defend himself on that. In your opinion, what should men do if a woman tries to attack or kill him?

A. Grab her hands and hold them until she is content. There is no reason for anyone to hit anyone no matter what gender you are. If this is happening to you or anyone else reading I suggest you leave the relationship.

Should men be able to destroy women with just an accusation?
Q. Of rape, harassment, "abuse" or whatever. Can't the same laws that can be used against men be used against women as well, who may or may not have committed a crime? A few MRA's seem to assume these laws only apply to men, but a number of female teachers are being accused with abusing young men-what if any of them are innocent? Won't their professional and personal reputations be ruined? And if they are guilty, shouldn't their reputation be ruined? A. Anyone who makes a false accusation, regardless of gender, should face serious legal consequences. We cannot tolerate people fabricating stories of violence or misconduct. Conversely, we should have a balanced view towards those who are accused and treat them equally regardless of gender.

What is with you men who whistle at girls walking down the street?
Q. This is so annoying! I just walked my dog like 5 blocks, and I got so many catcalls and whistles from men. I'm not dressed skanky or anything and I wasn't looking at them or smiling at them, I don't understand. And the worst part, most of them were old enough to be my father. Like what is the motivation there? You are honestly a 40 year old man interested in an 18 year old? Come on. It's just so rude and creepy. Why do men do this, what do they expect to get out of it?

What do older men find most attractive about the younger woman?
Q. And if you had your choice, would you be with a younger woman, and why? I myself find a little maturity and experience rather an attractive feature in a man, but are men the opposite?
Asked by Little ray of sunshine - Sun Feb 1 20:08:27 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The youthful feeling he gets when he is with her (sometimes). Many times, the reasons are, in a woman's opinion, superficial. Older women are settled and, usually, unwilling to alter their routines and views about life. Younger women are still developing their personalities and are often less stagnant. I prefer an older man because he is usually more attentive to my wants and needs (if he is experienced enough, he will even put his own on hold to keep me happy). That seems to be their nature. It is all about YOU in his eyes. I assume this reassures himself of his ability to be an adequate provider in every aspect (who knows). Older women sometimes have the "I can and will do what I need to do and want to do when I need or want to do it"… [cont.]

What is the difference between men and women's ice hockey shoulder pads?
Q. I am looking into getting ice hockey equipment. My boyfriend is teaching me to play, so I need to get all the required equipment. Is there a difference between men and womens shoulder pads? I got a pair of men's and they seem a little tight around the bust but at my local hockey store all they have is men's.
Asked by amanda w - Mon Dec 24 23:36:37 2007 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Men's pads will work fine, but women's pads have a large chest plate that is molded for a woman's body. If you can only find men's, use them, but make sure you find a model that doesn't easily ride up.

Why do some men only grow their beards seasonally?
Q. Where I live hunting season is a much anticipated event. There are some men in my community who remain clean-shaven throughout the year, except during this time . One man I know was talking about planning to grow a beard only when duck hunting season starts, and another was telling of how he grows his "for the winter". When I heard the latter I thought sarcastically, "Why? To keep you warm?" As I am a more bookish person I would appreciate it if someone more knowledgeable would explain this to me.
Asked by Eric - Wed Feb 10 22:49:02 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Its to stroke their egos. Kind of like how a kid pretending to be a super hero can't do it without the cape (blanket tied to his neck). Hunting is this primal thing for them, and having a beard makes them feel like they are really playing the part, like really fitting into their role as the caveman/mr wilderness/survivor doing the manly thing and hunting with primal instinct etc. They'd wear loin cloths if they could get away with it.

How do married men act when attracted to another woman?
Q. How do men act if they are married, but find another woman attractive? Do they flirt with the women they are attracted too? If they do flirt, what are the specific types of ways they flirt? Should the flirting be taken as totally innocent? Are men that are older and married for years still attracted to other women? Would they show their attraction or once they get to a certain age they don't outwardly show they're attraction?
Asked by wowwoo - Tue Jul 28 15:50:34 2009 - - 14 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The married men I know express their attraction, some try to take it a step further and some don't...just depends. Usually they just come right out and say that they find the girl attractive and then flirt as if they weren't married.

Why are men suprised violence against women is taken more seriously?
Q. Men commit far more violence against women than the other way around and that is a FACT. accept it. Men are far physically stronger than women. A hit from a woman can barely cause any damage while a hit from a man could seriously hurt a woman. That's why that whole "don't hit girls" thing came from and that's why man on woman violence is taken more seriously than woman on man violence. Its really not that hard to figure out.

How can men feel good about themselves?
Q. It seems that in modern day society it is all-too-obvious that bisexuality is rampant among women and even lesbianism. And society dictates that homosexuality is much more acceptable among women since they are 'hotter' and loathed when among men. So it seems that women aren't really attracted to men and have little reason to date men. So my question is, how can men feel good about themselves when society shows that men are basically ugly and unwanted unless for financial purposes or protection or something?
Asked by Gary - Fri Nov 30 03:42:37 2007 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Well, first off, if all men feel like this, then they should stop promoting girl-on-girl action. I know it's not "guys' fault" ... they don't force women to be with other women. But pop culture condones it, and it came about, I think, because so many guys LOVE the idea of being with two women at once. Also, just an FYI - - society doesn't HATE homosexual males. And, to answer your question, many, many women love men. Not all of us are bisexual or lesbians. In fact, most of us aren't. Otherwise, why would homosexuality be the abnormal (not my personal view) as opposed to the norm?

Can men naturally sense when a woman is on her period or ovulating?
Q. About four months ago, I noticed that certain times during the month, I get an exceptional number of compliments from men whereas other times, I feel more unnoticed. I began to pay closer attention to when this is happening and it seems to always be when I am on, or very near my period. Is this just coincidental?
Asked by GodsGrace - Fri Mar 6 01:58:41 2009 - - 13 Answers - 3 Comments

A. Men can tell when women they know well are on the rag, but not when they are ovulating. Women have a hidden oestrous cycle. It's one of the reasons that we have strong social groupings - I know it sounds strange, but study animal behaviour and you'll find out why. You might get more compliments from men you know when you have the painters in because they don't want to risk riling you, or might just notice them more because of your more fragile state of mind.
