From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The concept of personhood (who is a person within a society) is the fundamental component of any selective concept of people. A distinction is maintained in philosophy and law between the notions "human being", or "man", and "person". The former refers to the species, while the latter refers to a rational agent (see, for example, John Locke's Essay concerning Human Understanding II 27 and Immanuel Kant's Introduction to the Metaphysic of Morals). Central issues of interest to people are the understanding of the human condition and the meaning of life, and survival. Religion, philosophy, and science show or represent modes and aspects of inquiry which attempt to investigate and understand the nature, behavior, and purpose of people. Sociology, economics, and politics represent modes by which people investigate how to maximize a collective survival strategy. From Wikipedia under the

Q. Less than religious people, of course. It s just that religious people seem to me to be very biased and prejudiced, I mean, they attach so much importance to their particular brand of reality rejectionism and will often judge people solely on whether or not they accept the same stuff without evidence that they believe. The only prejudice that atheists seem to display is a tendency to reject religious people s claims but you can hardly blame for that, now can you? You're very biased and prejudiced yourself. Answered by Justina - Mon Jun 8 14:12:03 2009 How many people died during the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge? Q. I've been trying to find online how many people died during the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge but it keeps saying 11 people then 10 more people?? does that mean 21 altogether or is it just 11? Asked by Sarah L - Sun Aug 23 15:55:30 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Strauss, head of the project, innovated the use of movable safety netting beneath the construction site, which saved the lives of many otherwise-unprotected steelworkers. Of eleven men killed from falls during construction, ten were killed (when the bridge was near completion) when the net failed under the stress of a scaffold that had fallen. Nineteen others who were saved by the net over the course of construction became proud members of the (informal) Halfway to Hell Club. Answered by Numbat - Sun Aug 23 21:14:20 2009 Why do people answer a question by saying call a technician?
Q. Obviously calling a Licensed Contractor is not on the minds of most people asking questions on this site. They are on here to find out if there is a alternative to calling and Electricain, Plumber, AC technician, Carpenter, Concrete finisher, etc... Why do so many people anwer a question with that stupid piece of advice? Duh...The only reason people are on her is to avoid the expense of calling the professional or to have some insight about their problem so that when they do call a pro they are not ripped off. Who in the F*** does not know how to call a professional. Please quit answering questions with that stupid obvious answer.
