From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Religion is the belief in and worship of a god or gods, or in general a set of beliefs explaining the existence of and giving meaning to the universe, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. Aspects of religion include narrative, symbolism, beliefs, and practices that are supposed to give meaning to the practitioner's experiences of life. Whether the meaning centers on a deity or deities, or an ultimate truth, religion is commonly identified by the practitioner's prayer, ritual, meditation, music and art, among other things, and is often interwoven with society and politics. It may focus on specific supernatural, metaphysical, and moral claims about reality (the cosmos and human nature) which may yield a set of religious laws and ethics and a particular lifestyle. Religion also encompasses ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and religious experience. The development of religion has taken many forms in various cultures, with continental differences. The term "religion" refers both to the personal practices related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication stemming from shared conviction. "Religion" is sometimes used interchangeably with "faith" or "belief system", but it is more socially defined than personal convictions, and it entails specific behaviors, respectively. Religion is often described as a communal system for the coherence of belief focusing on a system of thought, unseen being, person, or object, that is considered to be supernatural, sacred, divine, or of the highest truth. Moral codes, practices, values, institutions, tradition, rituals, and scriptures are often traditionally associated with the core belief, and these may have some overlap with concepts in secular philosophy. Religion is also often described as a "way of life" or a life stance. From Wikipedia under the

I am agnostic. while i was there i got to thinking about religion. i am just so confused at what to believe. this isnt really a question, but i wanted to know if anyone feels like i do. Asked by Benjammin - Sat Aug 18 12:42:35 2007 - - 14 Answers - 5 Comments A. Religion is about how man gets to God. Christianity is about how God got to you. While religions explain how you can get to God through following man made traditions, works, karma, etc. God says receive My forgiveness. Man could not keep the law and get into heaven by his own works, so God became flesh and did what we could not, live a sinless life and pay the price of our sins. God doesn't want a religion, He wants a relationship with you. Don't mistake all the man made traditions and denomination styles for the real thing, a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. If you look to other people, you will be dissapointed but if you follow Jesus and His Word, you will never be let down. Like, my parents are Catholic, and they want me to make my conformation. But I dont want to be Catholic, and I dont want to lie to an entire church. Are there any laws saying that I can choose my own religion, even if my parents are agianst it? I talked to my parents and they said that I dont have ANY rights until I am 18. They also said that once I make my conformation that I can go to any church I want. But dosnt that defeat the purpose? Asked by manduhh - Tue Sep 25 17:36:58 2007 - - 10 Answers - 1 Comments A. Your religion is a personal, internal choice. Your parents have no jurisdiction over it, and the law has even less. I opted out of my parents' religion when I was 11 or younger. You're free to believe whatever you want. Religious coercion is illegal in most countries, but there's a grey area with parents and children. If I were you, I'd remind your parents that according to their own beliefs, lying in a promise to God is a sin, and so is their forcing you to lie.
