Does having our officers understand the different cultures add to their overall understanding of the people th?
Q. Does having our officers understand the different cultures add to their overall understanding of the people they serve? Does it add to the police understanding why crimes are committed? Does it add in their being able to handle the various situations they deal with? Does it bring them closer to lowering the crime rate through knowledge of diverse cultures? If not, are we wasting even more time?

A. You have some insightful questions built in here without knowing it. The purpose of cultural diversity ( which is mandated training annually in our department) is done solely for the purpose of not offending anyone through lack of knowledge of their cultural upbringing. In these days of being so incredibly "politically correct", the entire basis of law enforcement has been pushed aside. Does this help in handling various situations? NO. Breaking the law is set by state statutes and Revised Code. Does Cultural Diversity help bring down the crime rate through knowledge of diverse cultures? Let me ask you something here. How could it? What is the most challenging thing about understanding how to make websites successful for your business?
Q. Many companies tell what you need to do to make a website successful in getting traffic, and high search engine rankings. Many contradict each other and it is hard to know just what to do unless you are already an expert. What does it take to achieve this? What problems have you experienced in understanding what to do and in assessing what is being advised?

A. That is a very good question! The most challenging aspect that 99% of web designers still get wrong is that they should design sites for users first, search engines second and their clients third. Users first because no matter how good the client thinks a website is if most users don't love it then they will not use it. Search engines second because no matter how good the client thinks a website is if it does not have high visibility in the search engines then there will be less visitors (users). The client third because they are paying for it :) So as a web designer you have to stop your client wanting to do stupid things and the only way to do that is be an expert on usability and search engine optimization. Not easy :)

A. Are you trying to get us to do your homework? You're obviously on a course, so why don't you look at your text books or study/lecture notes - you're the one studying this subject, not us! I'm not having a go, but if this is something you've chosen to study, you must have a better idea how to answer this question than a bunch of strangers on Yahoo answers.
